Tourism and Customer Support Officer

The Tourism and Customer Support Officer role acts as the customer service interface between Council and the public in various Council Visitor Information Centre’s. The position will be rostered at Council’s Visitor Information Centres in Millicent, Beachport and Penola. The applicant must have a good general knowledge of the Council area and what it has to offer, along with excellent customer service and communication skills. The successful applicant will be required to work some public holidays, weekends and during peak tourism periods and be available at short notice.

The role includes (but is not limited to):

  • Customer Service - act as a branch office of Council whilst at the Beachport and/or Penola offices by assisting with over the counter enquiries, reception duties, processing of applications, mail, licenses and permits, photocopying and faxing services
  • Financial Management – receipting of monies for rates, accounts, and registrations. Processing and reconciliation of banking and petty cash
  • Facilities Management – process bookings for Council facilities.
  • Visitor Information - provision of tourist information to visitors in a pleasant and timely manner

This position is casual and offered in accordance with the Wattle Range Council ASU Enterprise Agreement with an hourly rate ranging from $38.6- $41.7 (inclusive of 25% casual loading), dependent on qualifications and experience. The position will also include 10% superannuation.
