Procurement Project Officer

Council offers a wide variety of tasks related to the range of services and infrastructure provided in the district.  The Assets and Environment team delivers high quality and sustainable infrastructure and asset management including roads and footpaths to waste management, stormwater, coastal environments and community buildings.  Council provides a supportive environment with a commitment to delivering the best for our community. 

The Procurement Project Officer is a contract position to lead continuous improvement in Council’s purchasing processes and project delivery.

The successful applicant will use their high level of knowledge and skills to develop and implement a procurement manual, templates and processes that enable all Council staff to identify and manage risks during procurement and projects. There is a strong focus on aligning procurement with Council policies, legislative requirements and Local Government best practice. It is imperative that the Procurement Project Officer can engage with Council staff to understand their requirements and reflect these in the procedures and templates. The successful applicant will also be responsible for undertaking procurement, preparing panel contracts and multi-year service contracts.

The role is based in Council’s Engineering Directorate who undertake the majority of procurement, as a part of the Assets and Environment Team. The position will work closely with the Finance and Corporate Services Teams and provides advice for inter-departmental project teams. A commitment to safety is also required.

An attractive remuneration package in the range of $80,737 to $84,008 is on offer based on experience, plus 10% superannuation. This position is being offered as a 2 year contract full time position however part time may also be considered. The position is entitled to a rostered day off each month and flexible working arrangements would be considered.
